If memory serves, I remember after President Trump won the election in 2016, the Democratic Party admitted they had an identity crisis. Spokespeople said they needed to figure out what they stand for. And here they are at that crossroads again. I'm a former Democrat, from RFK Jr's Classic Democrat era, and I know what I believed the party stood for. Far be it for me to give the Dems any ideas about how to save their party. They've lost their way. I will never be a Democrat again after what they've done to RFK Jr and Tulsi Gabbard.

I totally agree. I think the Democratic Party has been usurped by the 'military industrial complex'. Why else would Dick Cheney have backed Kamala Harris? Woke ideology pervaded it and a corrupt oligarchy of billionaires are now in charge of (what used to be) the Democratic Party. RFK Jr and Tulsi Gabbard are amazing and I really hope they get appointed! I wrote to my Senator and to Senator Cassidy. Please write to Senators to ask them to confirm RFK Jr and Tulsi Gabbard. Adam, do you have a list of the Senators that are on the fence?

I had just listened to Trump talk about all the changes he was going to make in lowering the cost of groceries that the Biden administration inflicted on the American people. I was just at the grocery store and to pick up some eggs. I was shocked. The cost of eggs has already gone from 3.97/5.97 a dozen to 7.97/9.97 a dozen. I was shocked. A very elderly lady next to me said," I really need eggs but I can't pay that". I needed them too, so I picked up two boxes. As we walked to check out, She said, "Trump promised he would lower all grocery costs. If I can't afford the eggs, what else can't I afford." I picked up two dozen eggs, and we followed each other to the checkout. I checked out first. She was behind me. I gave her a dozen eggs. She thanked me profusely and tearfully said, "Trump promised to lower grocery costs, how can I afford the cost of everything to be higher with Trump?" She said tearfully.... "He is a liar, and I believed him." That's one item. How much has everything gone up? That is yet to be discovered." :-(

I hear you. This is really unfortunate. The tariffs might be not have been the best idea. 🥲 I’ve been thinking a lot about this.

I think that is very unfair to call Trump a liar. He didn't say he had a magic wand to make prices cheaper immediately and he has just been in office 2 weeks! Inflation didn't develop overnight and it isn't easily fixed overnight. Also, things are much more complicated than that. Supposedly due to the avian flu “the Biden administration and the Department of Agriculture directed the mass killing of more than 100 million chickens, which has led to a lack of chicken supply in this country, therefore lack of egg supply, which is leading to the shortage.” So the price of eggs going up very recently is a direct result of that! Prices on many other items have been going up the last 2 or 3 years; it's also very noticeable with eggs due to the shortage and because that is a staple for most families and the U.S. has a real problem with the way it has industrialized agriculture as seen during the pandemic with the supply chain issues. I hope this is one of the things that can be fixed if/when RFK Jr gets appointed HHS Secretary! There is so much to this - like I said not simple and straightforward. So much is broken and it takes a while to fix a broken system, let alone to deal with all the many many pressing problems in the world.

Love the new format Adam! Easy to read and engage with while on the go. You're spot on in my opinion, Dems ruled the airwaves and literally ran out their competition - including Bobby. The have the resources and messaging - they don't have the substance. If I was in charge I would actually take notes from people like Bobby's original campaign, Bernie, and AOC and John Fetterman - their most popular Democratic (or previously Democratic) leaders. Bobby ran a campaign that would have been considered traditionally Democratic and he would have made a great Democratic candidate even 10 years ago. I think Dems should get back to those working class roots. Problem is, Republicans may be taking that spot from them if Trump's ideas work. So I don't know, the Dems are really in a tough spot. They've lost credibility with the people

I think they'll basically have to produce another Obama at this point and I don't know that they have time to train that person as they like to do by 2028. It's honestly looking like at least 8 years under a Republican president.

Thanks for the engaging question! I love to rant about this stuff 😊

Thank you! This is exactly the idea. For 2025 I want to go heavier on creating a more community driven environment with what we’re building here. Community is EVERYTHING!

I feel the wealthy financiers who may have backed Trump when he lost to Biden, merely switched parties. With Trump as President, will the financier switch back to Trump? They deserted Trump this last time, and backed Kamala and the Democrats believing they would easily beat Trump. With Trump as President will they join and back him again? We know these financiers have no loyalty to anyone but themselves. Robert Kennedy changed the whole scenario when the Democrats refused his offer to be head of the Health Department. Major mistake. He offered it to Trump and he took the offer. He brought an enormous amount of supporters with him. The rest is history. Trump is President because of the huge amount of supporters that Robert Kennedy brought to the Republican party. I hope Robert Kennedy runs for President in the next election.

Yes, Adam, it seems the Democratic Party put a lot of energy into messaging, and I tend to agree they have an idea problem. I think it would help the conversation to define specifically what their ideas have been and how those may or may not be real, relevant or beneficial to focus on.

That would be great. 👀 A lot of culture war idea issues.

Also to answer question 2. I would not be surprised if the dnc chooses a celebrity. 😆

I think a big problem the democratic party needs to face is how they treat other presidential candidates.

Look back at how they treated Kennedy and Nicole Shanahan not to mention other 3rd party candidates. The party of inclusiveness yet they ran a campaign about smearing the other guy and spent millions of dollars to shut them out. They shouldn't be pushing them down. They should be shaking hands and pulling eachother up while bringing new ideas to the table.

The DNC got a taste of how strong and passionate 3rd parties are when they kept attacking and forced us to endorse the other guy therefore winning the election. They underestimated us and their smear campaign backfired hard.

Quite honestly I don't know if I'll ever consider voting democratic just because what they did and how they treated Kennedy.

That's something I hope they learn from. It may be a tough pill to swallow but I don't see how they would be able to improve if they don't take accountability.
